We are looking for an experienced Workday Analyst to join FMG on a 7-month fixed-term contract, based in Wellington.
This role will support the next phase of FMG’s Workday deployment, with a specific focus on Workday Recruitment and Workday Talent Optimisation. You will work closely with our People and Culture team, Technology teams, implementation partner and business stakeholders to help design, configure, test and embed practical Workday solutions that improve the experience of our people, leaders and candidates.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a significant people technology programme at FMG. You will help us build on the foundations already established and help us improve the people experience through our use of technology.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Support the configuration, testing, validation and deployment of Workday Recruitment and Workday Talent Optimisation.
- Partner with FMG’s implementation partner and internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical, sustainable Workday solutions.
- Support discovery, design and testing workshops, helping stakeholders understand options, validate requirements and prepare for change.
- Lead or support testing, defect resolution, data validation, release readiness and go-live activities for new functionality and enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify People and Culture processes, improve data quality, reduce manual effort and strengthen employee and leader self-service.
- Provide technical support, guidance and training to People and Culture employees and other system users.
- Contribute to a high-performing Digital Employee Services team focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence and great user experiences.
About you
You will be a practical, people-focused Workday specialist who enjoys solving problems, working with data and partnering with stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.
You will be comfortable working across configuration, reporting, testing, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. You will be able to simplify complexity, communicate clearly, and help translate business needs into system solutions that are easy to use, well governed and sustainable.
You will bring:
- Proven experience working with Workday in a People Systems, HRIS or HR Technology role, including configuration, business process support, reporting, testing and system enhancements.
- Experience with Workday Recruitment and/or Workday Talent Optimisation, or strong experience in adjacent Workday modules with the ability to quickly build capability in these areas.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with People and Culture teams, Technology teams, implementation partners and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting system enhancements from discovery and design through to testing, implementation and post-go-live support.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to getting the best value from Workday and related people platforms.
Why join FMG?
At FMG, you will be part of a values-led organisation with a strong purpose and a proud connection to rural New Zealand. You will join at an exciting point in our Workday journey, helping deliver tools and processes that make it easier for our people and leaders to get work done, make informed decisions and focus on what matters most: supporting our clients, Members and rural communities.
