Are you an experienced leader with a passion for people and operations? Southern Milk Transport, a leading transport business, is seeking a dynamic Team Leader to lead our team of shift supervisors. As the Team Leader, you'll be at the forefront of our milk collections operations, ensuring the team of Shift Supervisors are supported and competent to achieve smooth, safe and efficient milk collection across our shifts. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of quality leadership and support to your team of Shift Supervisors, ensuring driver wellbeing and that all shifts run efficiently and safely.
  • Foster the development of your team, encouraging growth and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively solve challenges and adapt to changing situations.
  • Communicating effectively with your team, tailoring your message to each scenario.
  • Develop and maintain strong farmer relationships, anticipate needs, and proactive solutions.
  • Delegate tasks, effectively utilising your team's skills and potential.
  • Collaborate with your team, build trust to achieve goals and demonstrate respect for their contributions.
  • Effective communication with the Operations Manager, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational excellence.
  • Ability to maintain an executive pace, driving performance and productivity.
  • Build strong relationships within your team and the wider team of professional drivers, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Previous experience management position, preferably in logistics or transportation.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and effectively.
  • A customer-centric approach, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and handle challenges with resilience.
  • A proactive mindset, with a drive to continuously improve processes and performance.
  • People focused.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and eROAD applications would be an advantage.
