Based in the beautiful Whanganui region, Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation delivering a wide range of health and wellbeing services to whānau across Whanganui and the surrounding districts.
Our Innovation & Research rōpū acts as a social innovation hub, championing prevention and systems-level change. Our team of social innovators partner with communities to lead initiatives across areas such as Healthy Families, rangatahi-led innovation, and systems change programmes—strengthening wellbeing through locally driven solutions.
About the role:
Are you a strategic thinker and innovator with a passion for creating meaningful, long-term change?
The Kaitūruki Pūnaha (Systems Innovator) brings a deep understanding of local systems and structures, confidently identifying and activating opportunities that improve health outcomes at scale. We’re looking for a high-energy, creative leader with strong strategic thinking, co-design, and innovation skills—someone who thrives on collaboration and is driven by a desire to reshape the future of mental health and addiction services.
You’ll have a strong commitment to evaluation as a core component of systems innovation—capable of designing, leading, and applying evaluation approaches grounded in kaupapa Māori and Mātauranga Māori, ensuring outcomes are measured in ways that are authentic, culturally grounded, and transformative.
We offer a warm, whānau-centred work environment with a wide range of benefits, including:
