Contract – Fixed Term

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer who loves quality, thinks creatively about testing, and enjoys building smart automation that makes a real difference. If APIs, automation frameworks, and modern testing tools are your thing, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the role

You’ll be joining a motivated team of QA Engineers who play a big part in shaping our digital platforms. This role is hands-on and influential — you’ll help design solutions, lift quality standards, and ensure our systems are reliable, secure, and customer‑ready.

You’ll work closely with Technology Services and delivery teams, using modern agile practices and your strong technical experience to guide testing strategies and mentor others.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks for UI and APIs
  • Testing REST and SOAP APIs with a strong understanding of HTTP fundamentals
  • Creating automated UI tests using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or similar
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
  • Leading the creation and refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Ensuring high standards for security, performance, and data integrity
  • Supporting functional and user acceptance testing
  • Sharing knowledge and helping upskill peers and stakeholders
  • Spotting edge cases and improving overall test coverage
  • Contributing to mobile automation testing

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Test Automation Engineer
  • 3+ years working in cross‑functional Agile teams
  • Strong commercial experience testing API‑led web and mobile applications
  • Solid automation skills across UI and API testing
  • Great problem‑solving skills and an eye for detail
  • Confident communicator with leadership and facilitation skills
  • A degree in computer science, systems analysis, or equivalent experience

Why join us?

  • A chance to lead and influence quality across key platforms
  • Work with modern tools and automation practices
  • A supportive, collaborative team that values continuous improvement
  • A meaningful fixed‑term role with real impact

What’s in it for me?

At TSB, we’re small enough to really care about our customers but big enough to have great rates, innovative products, and digital solutions. We are looking for people to help us achieve our goal of being the easiest bank to deal with.

We aim to create remarkable experiences for our people, who in turn create remarkable experiences for our customers.

By working with us, you’ll be a part of a profit for purpose organisation. We’re 100% owned by Toi Foundation, a philanthropic trust, and our annual dividends contribute to Toi’s transformational impact in our community.

We believe that we all bring something unique to our workplace and when we are encouraged to be ourselves, TSB is stronger for it. That’s why we’re committed to supporting your wellbeing, creating space for you to be your best self, both in and out of work, and enabling you to make a meaningful difference in our communities.

If you’re passionate about quality, automation, and helping teams deliver their best work, we’d love to hear from you.
