We're looking for an experienced Senior Pricing & Portfolio Analyst to join our Pricing & Portfolio Analytics team in Wellington. This is a fixed term role through to June 2028.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded professional to play a key role in shaping FMG’s pricing and portfolio strategies. You'll provide technical expertise and insights that influence strategic decision-making, support portfolio performance, and help ensure our products remain competitive and sustainable.

Working closely with colleagues across Underwriting, Product, Claims, Sales, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Marketing and Digital teams, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that make a tangible impact across the business.

 In this role, you'll:

  • Support the development and delivery of FMG's pricing and portfolio strategies.
  • Design, develop and maintain pricing models, analytical tools and reporting.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, market trends and competitor activity, identifying opportunities to improve pricing outcomes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leaders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead medium-sized projects and initiatives on behalf of the Pricing & Portfolio Analytics Team Manager.
  • Mentor and support team members, sharing technical expertise and helping build capability within the team.
  • Partner with stakeholders across FMG to provide pricing-related advice and analytical support.
  • Contribute to process improvement and the design of new analytical approaches and      frameworks.

About You

You'll be a highly capable analyst with a passion for turning data into meaningful business outcomes. You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, data analytics or a related discipline.
  • At least five years' experience in an insurance analytical role, ideally within general insurance pricing.
  • Strong experience in data analysis, forecasting, modelling and portfolio performance management.
  • The ability to present technical insights in a clear and compelling way to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence decision-making.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to mentor and support others.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving capability, coupled with a strong commercial mindset.
