Location: Police National Headquarters, Wellington.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum. 

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.

Eligibility:  Applicants for this position must have the legal right to work in NZ and consent to undergo a NZ Police Vetting Process.

About the role | Mō te tūnga 

We are looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join our awesome team! We aim to make finance a friendly space and our internal staff are our customers. If you are a people person, experienced in payroll and financial administration with an adaptive communication style and ability to answer finance and payroll queries to clearly to suit the audience we would love to hear from you.

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will be processing timely and accurate financial information as well as payments and managing end to end payroll processing. This role interacts closely with our staff and building relationships and communication are important qualities in the role.

  • Bank Reconciliations
  • End to End Payroll Processing
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Youth Justice Reparation Programme
  • Systems and Processes
  • Relationship Management

About you | Mōu 

We would love you to apply if you have the following:  

  • 3+ years’ experience in financial administration, GST, payroll and the preparation of bank reconciliations, in a medium/large organisation
  • Strong experience in using financial information systems and Microsoft office including payroll systems and excel (experience using Datacom would be advantageous)
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative within role expectations
  • Highly organised and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and meeting deadlines during peak periods
  • Able to present information including explanations and requirement in a clear and professional manner, both written and orally
  • Commitment to our organisational values and culture, including Victims’ Rights and advocacy
  • Ability to develop good relationships and rapport with people internally and externally
  • Able to contribute to an inclusive, respectful and collaborative workplace including working with people with diverse backgrounds and experience.
