Postgraduate Lecturer Health Science
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
We are seeking a Postgraduate Health Science Lecturer for a full-time, fixed-term position (parental leave cover) at EIT in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).
This role is integral to delivering high-quality teaching and research within our Postgraduate and Master’s Health Science programmes. You will collaborate closely with the Auckland Campus Director, Head of School, and faculty teams to ensure excellence in curriculum design, student learning, and research outcomes.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $82,109 and $89,639, dependent on skills and experience.
The Postgraduate Health Science Lecturer will be responsible for:
- Developing and updating curriculum and course materials.
- Facilitating student learning through innovative teaching strategies, including blended and flexible delivery modes.
- Undertaking assessment and evaluation processes in line with academic regulations.
- Actively participating in research activities and delivering agreed outputs.
- Contributing to team communication, planning, and professional development.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A postgraduate degree in health science or a related field (PhD highly desirable).
- Recent experience in the health science industry in New Zealand.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level, ideally up to Levels 8 and 9.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and experience in blended/online delivery modes.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- We are looking for kaimahi who hold (or are keen to gain) the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT Level 5) qualification (or equivalent). If you don’t yet have it, we will support you to complete it as part of your role at EIT.
