Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time Nursing Lecturer teaching in our post graduate Nursing and Health science programmes. This position is located at either our EIT| Te Pūkenga business division located in Napier or Gisborne, but must be available to regularly travel to our Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti campuses for face to face workshop teaching and mentoring.

This position reports to the Head of School, Nursing and will be responsible for:

  • Teaching specific subjects in the postgraduate Nursing/Health Science programmes
  • Contributing to ongoing development of teaching and learning in the online platform
  • Participating in the ongoing curriculum development for the postgraduate Nursing/Health Science programmes
  • Contribute to the Faculty’s research culture, research forums and research outputs. 

He kōrero mōu| About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of New Zealand  annual practicing certificate, required
  • Worked in NZ for 2+ years as a registered nurse, required
  • Master of Nursing (or equivalent postgraduate qualification), required
  • Registered Nurse Prescriber or Nurse Practitioner with a Nursing Council of NZ annual practicing certificate, desirable
  • PhD or working towards a PhD, desirable
  • A wide range and up-to-date nursing practice experiences
  • Knowledge of the Nursing Council of New Zealand requirements for the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice
  • Sound knowledge and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi teaching
  • An understanding of Kawa Whakaruruhau and current approaches to cultural safety in the delivery of learning
