Nightshift Manager
Lead Our Nightshift Team to Success
Bidfood Waipapa is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Nightshift Manager to lead our Nightshift Warehouse Operations.

About the Role
As the Nightshift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of our nightshift pick, pack, and load activities. You will lead and support the night team to ensure customer orders are accurately prepared, loaded safely, and dispatched on time.
This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused leader who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team when required.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement across all warehouse operations.
- Review and optimise warehouse procedures to maximise efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all operational tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and service levels.
Customer Service Focus
- Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee safe and effective loading of delivery vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles are dispatched on schedule to meet customer delivery expectations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate the night shift team to achieve high performance.
- Set clear expectations and provide ongoing support and development.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and results-driven culture.
Staffing & Security
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet operational requirements.
- Oversee building, stock, and asset security during night operations.
- Manage labour resources effectively to support workflow demands.
Communication & Collaboration
- Conduct team meetings and communicate operational goals and priorities.
- Build strong working relationships across departments.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork throughout the business.
Health & Safety Leadership
- Champion health and safety across all warehouse activities.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
- Ensure all team members understand and follow safety procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Proven experience leading and motivating teams.
- Strong operational and organisational skills.
- Forklift experience
- Confidence using warehouse management and computer systems.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- A positive, resilient, and proactive approach.
- A passion for continuous improvement and driving results.
- Flexibility and commitment to working night shift hours.
Previous experience in a high-pressure, time-critical warehouse operation is essential.
