He angitūtanga – The Opportunity

In this vital role, you will take ownership of the mechanical maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the Horowhenua District three waters treatment and network assets. Working closely with the Treatment and Network Supervisors, you will balance proactive preventative maintenance with rapid, high-quality responses to unexpected faults and emergency breakdowns. By minimising unplanned downtime and ensuring all work meets strict productivity and quality standards, your technical expertise will directly safeguard the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our region's essential water infrastructure.

He kōrero mōu – About You

You are a skilled mechanical maintenance professional with a practical understanding of urban and rural three waters treatment or reticulation systems. With an NZQF Level 4 qualification or at least three years’ relevant trade experience, you hold a Class 1 driver’s licence and are confident using mobile devices to record accurate field data.

You thrive under pressure, maintain absolute composure, particularly during urgent call-outs, and model a proactive culture around health, safety, and wellbeing. Your excellent communication skills allow you to build collaborative relationships with team members, supervisors, local Iwi, and the wider community.
