Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Are you a commercially driven relationship builder who loves identifying opportunities, creating strategic partnerships, and delivering measurable results? As our Business Development Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping the future growth of Active+. Working at the intersection of commercial strategy and service delivery, you'll help drive sustainable growth, expand our market presence, and ensure every new opportunity translates into exceptional outcomes for our clients. You'll have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the business while working alongside a passionate team committed to improving health and wellbeing across New Zealand.

This is a new role created to deliver on our ambitious business growth and diversity plans. You'll identify and secure new business opportunities, strengthen relationships with key funders and strategic partners, and work closely with our nationwide network of Active+ licensees to grow services, enter new markets, and diversify revenue streams. From developing tenders and negotiating commercial agreements to analysing market trends, shaping pricing strategies, and maintaining a strong pipeline of future opportunities, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering sustainable business growth while ensuring commercial commitments align with operational excellence.

Success in this role comes from balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll use market insights, stakeholder feedback, and performance data to continuously improve our services, optimise commercial performance, and deliver measurable results. If you're energised by building partnerships, influencing senior stakeholders, and making a genuine impact in a purpose-led healthcare organisation, this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term role. Preference will be given to candidates in Auckland; other locations may be considered for an exceptional candidate.

  • A talent for identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve operational performance, and support sustainable growth.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire others, lead through ambiguity, and navigate change with resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Outstanding relationship-building, influencing, and communication skills, with the confidence to build trusted partnerships with customers, funders, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Sharp commercial acumen, including experience in pricing, contract negotiations, revenue growth, and commercial decision-making.
