We are looking for someone who brings experience in a similar administrative role within an academic environment and enjoys working collaboratively across teams. You use your initiative to anticipate needs, confidently handle routine matters, and follows through on your commitments. You bring a positive, respectful and supportive approach in your day-to-day interactions, along with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Above all, you take a proactive, solution-focused approach in your work and in how you engage with both ākonga, colleagues and stakeholders.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $59,700 and $74,600, dependent on skills and experience.

This Academic Administrator role is based at our Rotokauri Campus working with our Sport Science and Horticulture teams, reporting directly to the Office Manager.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out academic administrative functions in line with policies and processes to ensure seamless service delivery and deadlines are met.
  • Working proactively to ensure Team Managers and Programme Coordinators receive the administrative support they need.
  • Coordinating and administering meetings, including but not limited to, organising venues, agenda and minutes.
  • Coordinating student and stakeholder events, including but not limited to venues, catering, correspondence, and working collegially with all relevant staff and the wider organisation to achieve successful outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Experience in administration, ideally within an academic environment, with the ability to work effectively in a busy office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with minute taking.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and deliver outstanding professional support.
  • Advanced computing skills across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using databases.
  • New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship.
