Wintec is looking for a motivated and industry-connected Arboriculture Tutor to deliver high-quality education across our Level 3–5 programmes. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to bring your real-world experience into the classroom and outdoor learning environments, supporting ākonga to develop the skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required in the arboriculture industry.

You will deliver a blend of practical and theory-based teaching, covering a wide range of arboriculture topics. Learning will extend beyond the classroom, with field trips and applied experiences forming a key part of the programme. A strong focus on health and safety, risk management, and the effective supervision of students in practical settings is essential.

The Arboriculture Tutor is based in our Centre for Trades reporting to the Team Manager.

Skills & Experience


  • Strong industry knowledge and practical experience in arboriculture
     
  • Ability to deliver engaging, hands-on and theory-based teaching
     
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with ākonga and colleagues
     
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage field trips and practical sessions
     
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise groups safely in practical and outdoor environments
     
  • Sound understanding of health and safety practices and risk management
     
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs
     
  • Commitment to student success and creating inclusive learning environments
     
  • Competence with digital tools to support teaching and learning
