Youth Practitioner – East and South Auckland area (Stand Up! Community team)

Want to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We’re looking for a Youth Practitioner to join an energetic team of mental health and addiction professionals working together to support rangatahi in the Counties Manukau area.

At Stand Up! Community, we’re all about creating a supportive space where young people and their whānau can find the help they need by having increased access and choice of services to meet their mental health and addiction needs - no matter where they start. We believe in “any door is the right door,” so young people can access flexible, connected services that fit their life and needs.

You’ll be part of a team that puts rangatahi and whānau front and centre, respecting culture, community, and equity every step of the way. Whether someone needs light support or something more intensive, we’re there to help them grow and thrive.

What you bring:

  • 1-3 years working with youth (or similar) — you get the challenges and wins
  • Registered (or on your way) with a relevant body like HPCA, Social Work, or DAPAANZ
  • Know your stuff about teen development and addiction issues
  • Great at connecting with young people and helping them feel heard and motivated
  • Passionate about working with rangatahi and their whānau
  • Committed to living the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A current NZ driver’s licence

What you get:

  • Salary $69,076 – $79,393 (depends on your experience & registration)
  • Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • 22 days annual leave + 5 days paid study leave each year
  • A chance to grow your career and be part of something that really matters for Auckland rangatahi
  • A workplace that values culture, diversity, and YOU

If you’re ready to stand up for young people and support them in owning their story, send us your CV and cover letter, plus fill out the additional information questionnaire online form. Got questions? Michelle our People & Capabilities Coordinator has got you on 021 578 262.

Closing date: Tuesday, 5 May 2026
