Wholesale Debtors Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a part-time position (minimum 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with flexibility to work within school hours.

As a valued member of the ILT Head Office Finance Team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our finance operations run efficiently, transparently, and with full accountability. Your contribution will directly support ILT’s purpose of fostering a vibrant and thriving Invercargill community. 

KEY DUTIES:

You’ll play a vital role in managing our wholesale debtors and assisting with key administrative and finance processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and reconciling wholesale debtor ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparing, issuing, and processing wholesale customer invoices.
  • Allocating payments and reconciling debtor accounts monthly.
  • Monitoring overdue accounts and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Producing aged debtors reports and reconciling data between Advanced Retail and MYOB Acumatica.
  • Liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve account discrepancies.
  • Supporting the Operations Executive and Purchasing Officer as needed.
  • Undertaking other tasks as requested by the CFO, in line with Finance Team objectives.
  • Promoting ILT’s commitment to health, safety, and well-being across the organisation.

YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • A relevant qualification  in Accounting or Business Administration (minimum NZ Certificate in Accounting or equivalent).
  • At least two years’ experience in accounts receivable, debtors management, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or similar systems.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines under pressure.

The Invercargill Licensing Trust (ILT) is a community owned organisation that operates 23 high quality hospitality businesses including hotels, motels, bars, and restaurants as well as retail bottle stores and two distribution centres, with profits going back to the community of Invercargill. We also provide employment for approximately 650 people.
