We are excited to invite a dedicated Whānau Ora Navigator (Kaiārahi) to become part of our passionate team. Our work centres on empowering whānau to shape their own futures by supporting their growth, development, and wellbeing in ways that truly matter to them. If you thrive on meaningful connection and making real differences in people’s lives, this role offers a unique and fulfilling opportunity.

The Trust

The Raukawa Charitable Trust (RCT) has been a provider of quality community initiatives throughout the South Waikato since 1987, and we are proud to deliver a wide range of iwi-led initiatives in health, social, treaty, cultural, and environmental sectors, to the communities that we serve.

Role Overview

As a Whānau Ora Kaiārahi, you will collaborate closely with whānau to co-create and implement personalised plans that address their educational, social, health, cultural, and economic aspirations. Your role is to guide whānau toward self-direction, supporting them to integrate social and health services, improve outcomes, and move toward greater independence and life satisfaction.

You will:

  • Work alongside whānau to develop tailored, whānau-centred plans to achieve their goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to empower whānau through their journey.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse network of service providers, tutors, employers, whānau, and iwi.
  • Assess whānau needs regularly and adapt plans with thoughtful evaluations and reviews.
  • Utilise your regional knowledge of South Waikato service providers to maximise support for whānau.

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and relationship building.
  • Established networks within the South Waikato region.
  • Strong ability to assess needs and develop aspirational, achievable plans with whānau.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a wide community range.
  • Valid full Class 1 driver’s licence and willingness to undergo Police vetting.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunities for ongoing development and training tailored to your growth.
  • Guaranteed Christmas holidays each year due to a company close-down.
  • Monday to Friday business hours supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • A vibrant, dynamic team environment with a friendly culture.
  • Organisation-wide fun events celebrating staff contributions throughout the year.
  • Health insurance coverage for all eligible employees.

How to Apply

If you’re passionate about supporting whānau to thrive and ready to bring your skills and heart to this meaningful role, we warmly encourage you to apply. Please ensure you have a valid Class 1 driver’s licence and are comfortable with police vetting as part of the process. Join us in making a positive impact on whānau wellbeing in South Waikato - we look forward to hearing from you.
