Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is a whanau focused, kaupapa Māori values based, health and social services organisation providing professional health services to our local Hawkes Bay community and wider Kahungunu rohe from Wairoa to Wairarapa. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whanau for over 39 years.
Hauora Heretaunga is our Bronze Cornerstone-accredited, teaching practice that aims to deliver quality, evidence-based primary care services to our population of almost 7000 patients using the Health Care Homes framework. We are a high-needs clinic, committed to improving inequities in our most vulnerable populations and making a difference to Māori Health. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to delivering holistic care.
The purpose of the Whanau Manaaki role is to manaaki whanau into our clinic, ensure they are informed about available services, are supported in their journey to wellness and receive funded services they are eligible for.
Key tasks include:
· taking bloods (venepunture), blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, ECGs
· key navigator for the whānau to other services
· Assisting the clinician with organising group medical consultations
· Helping facilitate group education sessions
This is a great role if you are interested in entering the primary health care sector. It is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Health Professionals in a supportive, caring team environment. We are looking for casual staff to provide cover when our permanent staff are on leave.
Ideal candidates will have:
· a warm, welcoming personality with great people skills
· an understand of tikanga Māori – whānaungataunga, whakamana
· previous medical administration experience in an advantage, ideally in Indici or similar system
· a tertiary qualification in Hauora/Health and Wellbeing or working towards
· a can-do attitude, flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile
· professionalism in all aspects of mahi from personal presentation to practice
· high standards of client privacy and confidentiality
· a current, Full Driver’s License
