Tokoroa, the location for this role, is a town where the commute to work is brief, and housing is affordable. It is conveniently situated a short drive from beaches on both the East and West Coasts, and is not far from the mountains, rivers and lakes. This role also offers a Monday to Friday work week (no shift work), and a Christmas close-down period. The location and work hours are a great way to maintain a work/life balance, and make the most of your time off.

As a Mobile Nurse, you will work with a Whānau Ora integrated approach to provide support to individuals, and high needs communities, with diabetes, cardio-vascular and respiratory diseases, with a view to improving quality of life for those with a chronic disease.  

Key responsibilities of the position is to establish and maintain a therapeutic partnership with people and their families/whānau to achieve optimum health and well-being through appropriate assessment, critical analysis of clinical information, clinical reasoning, care planning, intervention, evaluation and education.

In order to be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Registered Nurse Practising Certificate in accordance with Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations governing clinical practice/legislative compliance
  • Understanding of Māori models of health and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi in practice
  • Experience in chronic or long term conditions, or medical nursing (highly desireable)
  • The ability to work under pressure in a busy, challenging environment
  • Competence in reporting accurate client information in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • A valid drivers’ licence, and be prepared to undergo reference checks and Police vetting.
