The Trust

The Raukawa Charitable Trust (RCT) has been a provider of quality community initiatives throughout the South Waikato since 1987, and we are proud to deliver a wide range of iwi-led initiatives in health, social, treaty, cultural, and environmental sectors, to the communities that we serve.

The Role

We have a vacancy for a Whānau Ora Navigator (Kaiārahi) to join our team. Our Whānau Ora Kaiārahi provide support to whānau through working with them to create and then implement plans that positively impact on family growth, development, and wellbeing. Plans must be whānau-centred, and can include anything from educational goals to social, health, cultural, or economic goals, but plans must also reflect the desires of the whānau so that whānau are self-directed and empowered as they achieve their plans.  You will also be supporting whānau to integrate social and health services, improving their own outcomes, moving towards optimal independence, and greater enjoyment of life.

You will need to be able to demonstrate you have experience with coaching and mentoring and have established networks within the South Waikato region so that you can confidently utilise service providers to fully benefit whānau. Building relationships is a key skill that is a requirement in this role as you will be interacting with a wide range of people, from service providers to tutors, employers, whānau and iwi.

Other skills and abilities required for this role includes the ability to support and assess the needs of whānau, the ability to write aspirational plans, and then carry out regular evaluations and reviews of those plans.
