The role

We are urgently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse committed and ready to embark on a new journey aimed at achieving real change in supporting the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family. 

Being a critical thinker and a team player, as a Well Child Tamariki Ora Nurse you will play a vital role in assessing pēpi and tamariki development at key stages, promoting health education for children up to five years of age whilst supporting development and enhancement of parenting skills. You will manage a portfolio of whānau/family, allowing you to enjoy building relationships with the whanau and support the communities you care for.

About You

In order to be successful for this role, you will be/have the following:

  • A registered nurse with experience in Well Child Tamariki Ora, Plunket, Community or Medical nursing
  • Have completed or be prepared to complete a one-year postgraduate certificate programme in Well Child Health
  • A commitment to live our values of Tika (working with integrity), Pono (working toward the vision/genuine intent) & Aroha (compassion and regard for others)
  • An understanding of Māori models of health and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi in practice
  • An excellent communicator and fluent in written and spoken English
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships within the community, clients, and RCT Staff

This position has been identified as a role that is mandated to be performed by a vaccinated person under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
