The Role:
- Fit, assemble and weld metal parts and sub-assemblies to fabricate equipment and components
- Fabricate, modify and repair structural steel and other metal products and structures
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, measure, cut, drill, grind and prepare materials
- Perform welding and fabrication work to a high standard, ensuring quality and accuracy
- Follow all health and safety requirements and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant welding/fabrication qualification or trade certification
- Previous experience in the engineering or construction industries
- Site work experience and prepare to stay away from time to time
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
- Have good communication skills
- Weld to GTAW, FCAW and MMAW standards
- Are able to interpret technical drawings
- A current NZ driver's licence would be advantageous
