Bidfood Queenstown are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to lead, develop and support our warehouse team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations while coaching, training and managing supervisors and team members to achieve smooth operational systems.

The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who can foster a positive team culture, drive performance and ensure all warehouse activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop warehouse supervisors and team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and inventory control.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching and performance support to team members and supervisors.
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy and operational performance, implementing improvements where required.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, quality and company procedures.
  • Manage employee performance, attendance and conduct in line with company      policies.
  • Schedule and engage in regular Tool Box and Department meetings to ensure great communication throughout the teams and various departments.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full.
  • Roster planning, managing schedules and requirements throughout the business. 

What You'll Bring

  • Previous leadership experience within a warehouse, logistics, distribution is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams, including supervisory staff.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
  • Experience managing performance, training and employee development.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and food handling standards.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory systems is preferred.
  • Current forklift license (desirable but not essential).

This role is a salary position working Monday to Friday. The candidate must have flexibility to work the occasional weekend if required to cover the needs of the business. The applicant must be NZ resident or Citizen or have valid working rights for NZ.
