Warehouse Operative
About the role
We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our Switchboard engineering company. You will be responsible for managing inventory of electrical components and equipment, ensuring that products are received, stored and distributed accurately and safely.
This is a part-time role, you will be required to work 24 hrs per week, based in our Whangarei Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and conducting inspections of upcoming shipments
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerised systems or manual tracking as necessary
- Safely and efficiently store electrical products in designated locations within the warehouse
- Accurately pick and pack orders based on customer requests or purchase orders
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure the quality and integrity of products and report any quality issues
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, and other team members.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers
What you'll bring:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred
- Knowledge of electrical products and terminology is a plus.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) may be required.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and data entry.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
