Warehouse Assistant
We are looking for a suitable person to join our team at Bidfood Invercargill in the position of Warehouse Assistant in all areas. This is a 5 day week - Monday to Friday role. Hours of work are 0730 to 1700 but can vary depending on work load.
The primary responsibility of this role is to receive inwards goods, accurately check product, replenish and basically manage stock in the Dry Goods area. You will also assist in picking and packing orders ready for delivery via our temperature controlled Trucks. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems would be an advantage.
We require specific focus on the following areas,
- Unloading freight of inwards goods via forklift - F endorsement and OSH cert required
- A knowledge of good Health and Safety practice
- Previous experience in a warehouse situation would be great but not essential.
- Efficient and safe loading of our delivery vehicles
- Attention to detail - no short cuts
- Great communication skills including written and verbal
- Team Player/ but also able to work unsupervised
- Using handheld Scanners - being computer savvy
- Working in a temperature controlled area at times.
Please make no mistake this is a physical job requiring urgency accompanied with accuracy.
This position requires individuals to be physically fit and healthy as there is frequent lifting of 25kg involved. Also occasionally working in a temperature controlled environment at temperatures of -25 degrees is also a requirement.
