WMS Stock Control Assistant

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm (occasional Saturdays)

Do you want to be part of a busy, fast paced and leading food Distribution Company in New Zealand? We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent position in our Purchasing team based at our distribution centre in Islington, Christchurch.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused person to join our Purchasing team in this newly created role. Working alongside our WMS Stock Controller and Credits Officer, you will play an important part in ensuring our stock accuracy and warehouse workflows run smoothly.

About the Role

As our WMS Inventory / Stock Control Assistant, you will help manage all stock on hand through our new Warehouse Management System. This role offers variety and growth as you support data accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and contribute to stock control improvements across the site.

Experience with the following systems is an advantage:

  • Realtime
  • Interlogic Multipick WMS (Version 5)

  

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintaining accurate stock records in WMS (REAL Time – Bid IQ)
  • Recording goods leaving the warehouse and reporting daily discrepancies
  • Investigating missing or damaged items and logging actions
  • Supporting stock counts, cycle counts, and full stocktakes across Chilled, Frozen, and Dry areas
  • Working closely with Purchasing, Inwards, Despatch, and Warehouse teams
  • Ensuring all stock count sheets and documentation are accurate and easy to read

  

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a “can-do” attitude
  • Interest in learning and developing skills within our WMS
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Confident communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and email
  • Basic knowledge of credits procedure and its impact on stock
  • Understanding of recalls and food safety requirements
  • Warehouse operations experience (pick/pack, despatch, inwards, replenishment)
  • Experience with WMS systems (MP Multipick preferred)
  • Competent use of RFSG (Radio Frequency Scanner Gun)
