Volunteer Coordinator

Full-time — West Auckland

Make a difference in the lives of our whanau. Coordinate the volunteer programs of our VisionWest Community Food Service (Pātaka Kai).

Under the direction of the Pātaka Kai Team Leader, you will support stock coordination within Pātaka Kai, create and develop a volunteer pathway, promote the volunteer programme at VisionWest, develop volunteer policies and practices and provide documentation of hours for all Volunteers. While supporting the Pātaka Kai Team alongside the Team Leader, you will also: 

• Manage the volunteer calendar and database
• Coordinate recruitment and scheduling of volunteer individuals and groups
• Orienting volunteers when they arrive for their shift 
• Support Pātaka Kai team with the core functions of the service
• Support Pātaka Kai leader with any special project and events

You will need:

• Equivalent experience in volunteer services
• Experience in volunteer coordination and management
• Experience coordinating group activities
• To understand and agree with the vision and mission of the VisionWest
• Be committed in providing services to people facing situations of hunger and poverty in a mana enhancing way.
