Horizons is focused on our region having effective transport networks. We’re at the forefront of changes that will reduce emissions from road transport, in turn we have invested significantly in improving our bus services for our cities and communities. There are also a growing number of challenges we’re facing in the transport sector.
We are seeking a customer focused, motivated and innovative Transport Planner to join our high performing Transport team. This is a permanent full time role based in our Palmerston North Office.
It is an incredibly exciting time for transport in our region, with increased investment in public transport and a number of network improvements that have been implemented recently, requiring oversight and support in the immediate future. Our role is in Transport is two-fold. We manage public transport across the region including our urban bus networks and total mobility. We also coordinate the development of an integrated and strategic transport network for the region, to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of people, and to enable regional growth.
While you don’t need to be a ‘Planner’, you will be using your planning, contract management, and project management skills to develop, advocate, analyse, monitor and implement policy and initiatives. Critical to this role is working closely and building relationships with the community, key stakeholders and partners. This role will be front and centre for our leading how our region plans and responds to government direction on emissions reduction.
This role could also suit a recent graduate looking to make a difference in how people move around the transport network.
