An opportunity has arisen for an experienced scientific sales professional to step into a specialist role managing high-value laboratory instrumentation and strategic customer relationships.

This position offers scope, autonomy, and technical depth for someone who operates confidently in capital equipment sales, particularly within LC and LCMS technologies.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of a defined portfolio of key accounts across analytical, clinical, research, and life sciences laboratories.

Your focus will be on:

  • Managing and growing established customer relationships
  • Selling high-end laboratory instrumentation (LC / LCMS), reagents, and consumables
  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers
  • Identifying new opportunities within existing accounts
  • Working closely with suppliers and internal teams on product positioning and strategy

This is a high-tempo consultative, solution-based sales role requiring strong technical credibility and commercial acumen.

About You

This role will suit someone already operating in scientific or technical sales, or a senior laboratory professional who has successfully transitioned into a commercial role.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in scientific, technical, or capital equipment sales
  • Strong technical knowledge of analytical instrumentation (LC/LCMS highly desirable)
  • Exposure to life sciences, environmental, food, clinical, or analytical laboratories
  • Confidence engaging with senior scientific stakeholders and decision-makers
  • A structured, organised approach to account management, especially with regard to personally      visiting end users
  • Drive, resilience, and a results-focused mindset

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a scientific discipline
  • Full NZ driver’s licence and own vehicle (car allowance and mileage provided)
  • Ability to travel  domestically, with occasional international travel
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand without restriction

Location: Auckland preferred. Strong candidates based in Wellington or Christchurch will be considered.
