Are you a dynamic leader who is solution focused and able to manage a team across several disciplines? 

We are seeking an experienced manager who has experience in overseeing laboratories and a surgery clinic. You will have an outgoing personality and be comfortable working in a progressive team. You will need to work closely with our Animal Technology team in the delivery of academic programmes on a daily basis as well as a surgical team for some of our programmes. If you have strong communication skills and can support an environment of coaching, support and guidance to kaimahi, then this is the role for you. An aptitude to meet financial targets and operate under tight financial constraints is required. 

Ideally the candidate will have a good knowledge and contacts within the animal care area.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $108,400 and $125.000, dependent on skills and experience.

This role is based at our Rotokauri Campus reporting to the Group Director and will be responsible for: 

Academic Delivery:

· Lead teaching team to ensure the quality of teaching on all programmes meets Wintec and external stakeholder expectations.

· Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring sessions with course objectives and resources are developed and maintained.

· Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for our ākonga.

Leadership:

· Create a positive environment in which staff are motivated, innovative and contribute to effective change.

· Ensure responsiveness to and congruence with organisational requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance opportunities for ākonga placements and kaimahi secondments.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· A relevant tertiary qualification or higher.

· Knowledge of the animal care or veterinary nursing industry.

· A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all ākonga are supported in their educational journey. 

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

· Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.

· Organisational skills to lead and manage teams to track ākonga progress.

· Patience and adaptability to accommodate different learning styles. 

· Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

· Commitment to promoting academic excellence and ākonga success.

Preferred:

· Prior management experience across multiple teams.

· Promote an environment of inclusion and authenticity.

· Hold and understand meaningful partnerships.
