About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and caring Teacher Aide to support our teaching team and help create positive learning experiences for our tamariki. This fixed-term role has been established to provide additional support within the centre, enabling one of our teachers to spend more focused time working with children who have diverse learning needs.
Working with our 2-5 year olds, you'll assist children through their daily routines, learning experiences, and play, while helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Here's what you'll do on a day-to-day basis:
- Provide amazing care and education to our tamariki
- Support teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences
- Assist children during activities, meals, and daily routines
- Champion team spirit and contribute positively to centre culture
- Foster positive relationships with children, whānau, and the teaching team
- Support centre operations and maintain a safe learning environment
This is a fixed-term position from 31 August 2026 to 13 November 2026, working 15 hours per week, ideally across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (5 hours per day). Applicants who can start later are welcome to apply; however, the end date will remain the same.
Role Requirements
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. An ECE qualification is not required for this role; however, experience working with children under five is essential.
You'll also bring:
- Experience working with young children, ideally within an ECE environment
- A natural affinity with children and a nurturing approach
- The ability to take initiative and work collaboratively within a team
- Confidence taking direction and supporting teaching programmes as required
