We are currently seeking a Teacher in Training to work 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday, in our busy nursery environment. Flexibility is desirable, and you’ll be supported every step of the way by our nurturing team.
What We’re Looking For
We are ideally seeking a 1st‑year Bachelor of ECE student, but we are also open to 2nd or 3rd‑year students, especially those who have experience working in a nursery setting.
Because this is a fast‑paced, relationship‑rich environment, we are looking for someone who brings:
- A developing but solid understanding of primary caregiving, attachment theory, and responsive, relationship‑based practice
- Confidence working with infants and toddlers, with the capability to support a primary caregiving model
- Experience in an ECE centre (preferred), particularly in a nursery
- Growing pedagogical knowledge and the ability to contribute to planning, assessment, and extending children’s learning
- Current enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor
- Understanding of child‑led curriculum and Te Whāriki
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
- Passion, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference
