Mo te tunga I About the Role: 

BestStart Huntsbury is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st or 3rd Year Teacher in Training to join our energetic and tight-knit 4 Year Old Team. Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community. You will be joining an established team of experienced teachers, where you will receive valuable mentoring and coaching to compliment your study and learning.

Role requirements: 

  • Enrolment into a level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma course 
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning 
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality 

Our successful applicant will be:

  • a confident and clear communicator -able to build trusted connection with tamariki
  • an individual with a growth mindset -open to constructive feedback
  • a collaborative team player - happy to lend a hand and support when needed
  • adaptable and flexible - able to use their initiative

This is a permanent part-time position working 35 hours per week, between 730am – 6pm, Monday-Friday.
