BestStart Ferry Road is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher-in-Training (Year 1–3) to join our Opāwaho Nursery, working with our youngest tamariki (0–2 years).

About the Role

  • Permanent, full-time role (40 hours, Monday–Friday) in our Opāwaho Nursery 
  • Support tamariki aged 0–2 years in their developmental journey 
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and the wider community 
  • Be part of a tight-knit, supportive team who value collaboration and fun 

If you’re passionate about working with infants and toddlers, and are currently studying towards a Level 7 ECE qualification (Bachelor or Graduate Diploma), we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

  • Enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma 
  • Passion for teaching under-twos and delivering high-quality care 
  • Knowledge of child-led curriculum, Te Whāriki, and ECE regulations 
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice 
  • A team-focused, caring, and enthusiastic approach
