Due to the consistent growth in occupancy, BestStart Cashmere is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher in Training to join our energetic and tight-knit team. Our centre is set up across 4 classrooms, including a lovely character villa & purpose-built classroom's, which are nestled around a huge and well-established outdoor area, including a Centre editable garden, and is tucked away down a long driveway, creating a real wee learning oasis.

About the Role:  

If you are a motivated team player & have a passion for teaching young children and are currently enrolled to study in a level 7 ECE programme (ECE Bachelor), we want to hear from you. This role will be based in our over 2 rooms with the flexibility to experience the under 2 age group as well. 

Our homely rooms aim for a 1:4 for under 2 (maximum of 12) and 1:8 for over 2 year olds. You will be working with a very experienced, passionate teaching team, who pride themselves on their successful and connected relationships with children, family & whānau.

This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday. We are ideally looking for someone in their 1st year of study.

Role requirements:  

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

  • Enrolment into a level 7 ECE Bachelor course  
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
