We are looking for a motivated Teacher in Training to join our team. The ideal candidate is a quick and adaptable learner with strong communication skills, who brings a positive, can-do attitude to their work each day. You will be flexible to work according to the centre roster and available for additional hours when required. Confidence and comfort working with both Under 2’s and Over 2’s age groups is essential, as you will be supporting tamariki across the centre. 

 As a Teacher in Training at BestStart Ascot Avenue, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced educators, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the development and implementation of our innovative curriculum. 

If you have a passion for teaching young children and are currently enrolled in a Level 7 ECE program, we want to hear from you.

This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday (rotating roster)

Role requirements:

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:

  • Enrolment into a level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma course
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
