Are you ready to start your early childhood teaching career and looking for the right centre to learn, grow, and shine? BestStart Allenton is excited to welcome a Teacher in Training to join our nurturing and supportive nursery team.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone in their first year of study or planning to begin their Level 7 ECE Bachelor in 2026. You’ll be based in our warm and welcoming nursery space, working across two small rooms dedicated to under-twos. Here, you’ll help support tamariki through each stage of their development, with the guidance of our experienced Kaiako.
About the Role
- Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
- Based in our nursery, across two under-two rooms
- Supportive and experienced team to mentor and guide you
- Conveniently located next to Allenton School and Allenton shops
- Work closely with whānau and Kaiako to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning

What We’re Looking For
- Enrolled (or planning to enrol for 2026) in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor
- Passion for quality teaching and child-led learning
- Understanding of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and commitment to high standards of practice
- Dedication to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday teaching
- A team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of learning
