Tamariki Ora Nurse
We are looking for a special Nurse to join our Tamariki Ora Nursing team. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of an experienced and professional team that includes Mobile Primary Nursing, School Based Nursing and other health professionals.
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 40 years. Underpinning our success as an organisation are our values: Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and Whanaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do.
The purpose of this role is to provide Tamariki Ora - Well Child health screening and development support and assessments for pēpē to tamariki from 0 to 5 years old.
We visit whānau in their homes or in our community clinic. We deliver our service in a professional and personal way, using our kaupapa Māori values.
You will support our new mamas across the Heretaunga ropu from our rural and coastal communities to our main centres.
The hours of the role are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
What we are looking for:
- A Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
- A Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Specialty- Well Child/Tamariki Ora strand OR be studying towards
- A team player who is self-motivated and has the ability and skills to work autonomously in our community.
- Experience offering practical, useful advice and strategies to whānau with pēpē
- Confidence and experience with working with pēpē and whānau
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori or a willingness to learn
- Experience with writing case notes, report writing and effective client and caseload management
- A FULL, current Drivers’ license
- Must be living in Hawkes Bay and know our local communities
Suitable applicants must be living in NZ and have an applicable work visa or residency and NZ experience in primary care and tamariki development.
