Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

The System Support Technician position is a full‑time, permanent role, and we are seeking a proactive, customer‑focused individual to deliver operational and technical support across EIT. In this role, you will ensure staff and students receive timely assistance with a wide range of IT issues, including hardware, software, operating systems, networks, and application support.

The appointing salary for this role will be negotiable, depending on skills and experience. 

You will be part of the Digital team and report to the Systems Support Team Leader.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical and operational support to users and resolving tickets efficiently.
  • Performing scheduled service desk duties and “night technician” shifts as required.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and proactively managing IT service desk activity.
  • Maintaining and deploying technology equipment and solutions.
  • Assisting with network administration, installations, documentation, and improvements.
  • Supporting and training staff in effective technology use.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in an IT service delivery environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networks, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, MacOS, and iOS.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • A commitment to continual learning and staying current with technology trends.
