The Systems Support Technician is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Auckland. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable and effective technology support across EIT's Auckland campus while also providing remote support to regional campuses and learning sites. The position is responsible for delivering Level 1 and 2 technical support, maintaining digital services and equipment, and contributing to technology initiatives that enhance the experience of students and staff. 

The appointing salary for this role will be between $65,000 and $75,000, dependent on skills and experience.

The Systems Support Technician is based in our Digital Team reporting to the Digital Support Team Leader and will be responsible for:

  • Providing Level 1 and 2 technical support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and digital services.
  • Acting as the primary technical resource for the Auckland campus while supporting regional campuses and sites remotely.
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting incidents and service requests through the Service Desk.
  • Maintaining digital equipment and supporting technology deployments, upgrades, and projects.
  • Providing technology advice, support, and training to staff while contributing to continuous service improvement.

He kōrero mōu | About You

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT service delivery.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 Administration, and Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Exposure to or experience supporting and automating endpoint deployment tools such as Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
  • Practical experience working within ITIL-aligned support desk environments.
  • Awareness of operational cyber security practices relevant to endpoint, identity, and end-user support roles.
  • Experience with foundational wired and wireless troubleshooting.
  • Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell.
  • Experience supporting accessibility and assistive technologies in an end-user environment.
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining both technical and user documentation.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry certifications (e.g. MCP, M365, ACSP).
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence would be an advantage.
