Salary: $70,838.25 per annum (prorated to $53,128.68 for part time hours)

Hours: 30 hours (there can be flexibility here)

Eligibility:  Applicants for this position must have the legal right to work in NZ and consent to undergo a NZ Police Vetting Process

About the role | Mō te tūnga  

The role is 30 hours (we are open to flexibility with the option for less hours) per week to be worked 5 days, 6 hours per day, days to be agreed. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our widespread but connected team in the Central/Eastern district, based in the Taumarunui Police Station. This role helps support people affected by crime and traumatic events in our community. 

A day as a Support Worker could look like:

  • Emotional support and practical assistance with support plans
  • Supporting clients to understand and access resources and clients’ rights
  • Providing guidance through the justice system, and safety planning of whanau and property
  • Connecting with local support services and counselling services where needed.
