Rose House is based at Hohepa's main campus in Somerfield which homes Alice who is in her early 50's. Alice has a wonderful sense of humour, who will charm you with her spontaneous singing. Alice's favourite past times are watching her most favoured movies and spending time doing arts and crafts. To support Alice you will need to be patient, resilient and confident in supporting her Mental Health needs and Dementia.
You will be supporting Alice with an open approach of adapting and learning to best support her as Alice's support needs can be challenging at times and may change unexpectedly. In this role role you will be apart of a supportive team who have been apart of Alice's journey who have the common approach of holistic care.
To be successful in this role you will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.
