About the Role: Full-time 80 hours per fortnight based in Porirua.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be supporting others to maintain a high quality of life and home environment, while encouraging full participation within their community.
Working every week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays all from 2.45pm – 11.15pm
Skills and Experience:
- A Passion for Tāngata/People: Be patient, friendly, and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate, and genuinely connect with people
- Experience: Must have 12 months minimum experience working in the Health Sector
- Empathy & Understanding: An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles.
- Team Player: Professional, honest, and a reliable team-player with a flexible mindset.
- Practical Skills: Prompting personal cares, including showering and dressing and confident in the kitchen
- Driver Licence: A Full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
- Relevant Qualification (or commitment to obtain): A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or a commitment to working towards this qualification, which will be funded by MASH Trust.
- This role specifically requires a Female as specified by the people we support needs, under the Health and Disability Code of Rights and as provided for under Section 27 of the Human Rights Act 1993.
