Mō mātou | About Hōhepa

Working at Hōhepa, is different from the average, you become part of our community of people, staff, volunteers, and contractors who all have a common goal - helping people to reach their full potential and lead enriched and meaningful lives in a holistic, supportive environment. We are a community leader providing services and support for people living with an intellectual disability to live their best lives and find a valued place in our society. Mō te tūranga | About the Role

With recent growth in our services, we have several exciting opportunities to join our Permanent Reliver team as a Support Worker. We have a variety of part time positions available. As a Support Worker you will work alongside our people to provide day-to-day support. You will be supporting people with disabilities in a range of settings including in their home, out in the community and at our day services.

The people we support love getting out into the community, whether its shopping, beach walks, coffee and cake outings, visiting friends, supporting the Crusaders, going to markets and fairs, or heading to the pub for a pint, to name just a few. The people we support have varying levels of need, and daily tasks vary from service to service but may include cooking, cleaning, medication administration, stores purchasing, personal cares, as well as facilitating community participation, recreational activities, and supporting people to achieve their goals.

You may also provide person-centered support in homes where routine is critical; following details plans to meet the needs of the people. As a Support Worker in the Permanent Reliever Team, you get loads of variety in your role as you will be rostered to work across any of our houses.

If successful, you would be offered a contract with a specific number of weekly guaranteed earnings. As we are a 24/7 operation you would be rostered to work across the same days each week, however, as the role of a permanent reliever is to provide cover for both planned and unplanned leave, the actual hours and shifts you work across these days will vary depending on which shifts need covering at that time. These can include a range of morning, afternoon, evening, and sleepover shifts. You will be guaranteed the same four consecutive days off each week and will have the opportunity to pick up extra shifts should you wish to do so.

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependent on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.
