About the Role:
As a Support Worker in the Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you'll walk alongside people in their day-to-day lives — supporting them to build confidence, make choices, connect with others, and live as independently as possible. Some days that means going for a walk, supporting at appointments, or celebrating a small but powerful win. This is a two to one support role.
Hours: 52 hours per fortnight
Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 5pm - 9pm and Sunday 8.30am - 5pm
Week 2: Monday 8.30 - 5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5pm - 9pm, Sunday 8.30am - 5pm
We're Looking For People With:
- A Passion for People: Be patient, friendly, and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate, and genuinely connect with people
- Driver Licence: A Full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
- Empathy & Understanding: An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles.
- Team Player: Professional, honest, and a reliable team-player with a flexible mindset.
- Practical Skills: Assist and carry out personal cares, including showering and dressing.
- Previous Experience: Lived or work experience in disability and or mental health or other health sector
- Relevant Qualification (or commitment to obtain): A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or a commitment to working towards this qualification, which will be funded by MASH Trust.
