Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have a brand-new role that will be supporting two young woman who live independently and are based at Hōhepa's main campus.
Kayleigh has been living at Hōhepa for the last 10 years and is making the exciting transition from flatting to living independently to Emerald Service, which is still based at our main campus. Kayleigh has multiple interests and passions which includes working in the weekends, attending our day program LEAP, Crafts, and the love for cats!
The other service is Aroha, which is supporting Josie, who has been living independently in the last few years and is excited to move to her new home. Josie is a very extroverted young woman and enjoys chatting to people, as well she has an interest in fashion and beauty.
In this role we are looking for a person who is resilient, self-motivated, empathetic, and who has a passion for helping others and making a real difference in people’s lives. You'll be a strong person with a positive and open-minded outlook, able to problem solve using sound judgement, manage risk and make thoughtful decisions. And of course, must love cats!
You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.

At Hōhepa the role of a Support Coordinator is what is often referred to in the wider healthcare sector as a Support Worker. We feel that the title Support Coordinator better reflects the nature of the role, which requires working in partnership with the people receiving support to ensure we are achieving our organisation mission of every life fully lived.
