Royal District Nursing Services (RDNS NZ) is seeking caring, reliable, and positive Support Workers to join our Living My Life team, supporting a young person living in their own home.   

This role is all about empowering someone to live independently, participate in their community, enjoy meaningful activities, and achieve their personal goals. You'll be supporting a person who uses a wheelchair and communicates non-verbally, helping them live life to the fullest through connection, encouragement, and person-centred support.

No prior experience is required. We are looking for people with the right attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for helping others.

Shifts Available

We're currently seeking support workers who can assist with some of the following shifts:

  • Monday: 2:30pm – 5:00pm & 5:00pm – 9:30pm
  • Every second Saturday: 5:00pm – 9:30pm
  • Saturday Sleepover: 9:30pm – 9:00am
  • Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Additional shifts may become available over time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting daily living activities
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility support
  • Supporting communication through non-verbal methods
  • Helping with community outings, social activities, and interests
  • Encouraging independence, participation, and choice
  • Building a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship
  • Creating fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences

What We're Looking For

  • Caring, reliable, and patient individuals
  • Positive attitude and a sense of fun
  • Comfortable being hands-on and actively involved
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow support plans
  • Experience in disability support is beneficial but not essential
  • Full Driver Licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous
