Royal District Nursing Services (RDNS NZ) is seeking compassionate, reliable, and committed Support Workers who are able to work with a client in their own home. We are building a dedicated team to provide 24/7 support, this will include supporting the client with their personal cares, maintaining their home, and providing them with support to live a safe and comfortable life as well as provide support under their Living My Life program. 

The Living My Life programme component of support is focused on helping people achieve their personal goals, build independence, develop meaningful relationships, and participate actively in their communities. This role is about more than providing support - it is about empowering someone to live the life they choose. We are looking for Support Workers who are committed to making a genuine difference through person-centred support.

Shifts Available: We are recruiting for a range of shifts, including:

  • Day Shift: 8:30am – 2:30pm 
  • Afternoon / Evening Shift: 2:30pm – 9:30pm 
  • Sleepover Shift: 9:30pm – 8:30am 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the client with their personal care and home supports.
  • Supporting the client to work towards their personal goals and aspirations
  • Encouraging independence, choice, and decision-making
  • Assisting with community access, social activities, and participation in meaningful interests
  • Building confidence and supporting the development of life skills
  • Providing person-centred support within the client's home and community
  • Supporting behavioural needs using positive support strategies
  • Building a trusting and respectful relationship with the client
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with the wider team

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in disability, community, healthcare, mental health, or support work is preferred
  • Calm, resilient, and professional approach
  • Ability to build positive and respectful relationships
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and committed to rostered shifts
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence preferred
  • Understanding of person-centred support practices
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds 
  • Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga Māori, Pasifika values, languages, and cultural practices would be highly advantageous.
