We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to support a woman in her 50s following a head injury, with a focus on supporting her independence and helping her re-engage with the community and social activities she enjoys. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on her daily life by offering support and guidance in a variety of areas.

Shift Available: Wednesday and Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support with meal preparation, encouraging independence and participation in daily tasks
  • Provide guidance in a calm, empathetic, and supportive manner
  • Assist with community outings and social engagement (e.g. visits to local parks, cafés, or activities of interest)
  • Support behavioural needs, responding appropriately and working alongside the wider team on positive strategies
  • Foster a warm, respectful, and engaging environment

Key Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with cognitive impairment or from a mental health background
  • Experience with personal care and meal preparation
  • A caring, patient, and person-centred approach
  • Cultural awareness, including an understanding of Māori perspectives and tikanga Māori
