We are looking for someone who has experience and enjoys working with young adults. Understanding the function of behaviour and being able to develop creative strategies to support this would be an advantage. You may like building, biking or be into skateboarding and feel inspired by the chance to be involved in the community. You will be supporting this person to learn and try new things by creating opportunities. Our goal is to support an independent future for this young person, you will be focused on supporting his skills, development and personal growth. As a Support Coordinator at Hohepa you will have a kind nature and can-do attitude, remembering it’s the little things that matter. You will be supporting people with disabilities in a range of settings including in their home, out in the community and at our day services.
The people we support love getting out into the community, whether its shopping, beach walks, coffee and cake outings, visiting friends, supporting the Crusaders, going to markets and fairs, or heading to the pub for a pint, to name just a few. The people we support have varying levels of need, and daily tasks vary from service to service but may include cooking, cleaning, medication administration, stores purchasing, personal cares, as well as facilitating community participation, recreational activities, and supporting people to achieve their goals. You may also provide person-centred support in homes where routine is critical; following details plans to meet the needs of the people.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.
