About the Role: Hours: This role is working 80 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated support worker to join our team in Whanganui.   You will demonstrate resilience, and the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in challenging situations.  You will be part of a small team who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to those who live and work in the home.

Skills and Experience:

  • A Passion for Tāngata/People: Be patient, friendly, and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate, and genuinely connect with people
  • Experience: Must have experience working as a Support Worker in challenging situations.
  • Empathy & Understanding: An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles.
  • Team Player: Professional, honest, and a reliable team-player with a flexible mindset.
  • Practical Skills: The ability to carry out personal cares, including showering and dressing.
  • Driver Licence: A Full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
  • Relevant Qualification (or commitment to obtain): A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or a commitment to working towards this qualification, which will be funded by MASH Trust
